At the foot of the Regional Natural Park of the Volcanoes of Auvergne and the mountains of Livradois Forez, STGI, Société Thiernoise de Gravure Industrielle, was founded in 1982.
Managed by a hand modelling specialist from the prestigious Boulle school in Paris, the company is renowned for its quality work and the technicality of the parts produced. But the digital revolution at the end of the 20th century disrupted working techniques.
Innovations in information technology and telecommunications are profoundly changing the way companies operate... To remain part of the industrial landscape, STGI must take this shift and put on the shelf pantograph, stalls, mallets and chisels for the benefit of CNC centres and computers equipped with the most advanced software.
In 1993, the company acquired its first NC engraving centre. This is followed by a real development of production tools that allows the company to increase its productivity. Then come 2007 and the time of the founder's retirement....
Will he be able to find a buyer? Will it succeed in preserving the production tool, its employees and the skills present within the company?
This was without counting on the ambition of a young thirty-year-old man: Nicolas Guérin.
Methods technician for a local French industrial group, he is passionate about engraving and technology. Motivated by the challenges of entrepreneurship, he sees in STGI a real opportunity to surround himself with employees with recognized expertise and skills. Nicolas therefore integrates his new functions and STGI becomes STGI services. For several years, the company was driven by technological developments and the workshop was expanded. But in an era of globalization and eco-responsible approaches, what new solution can we offer our customers? How to propose more and more innovative projects?
Surrounded by its partners, the company turned towards texturing and laser engraving and became one of the first French subcontractors to offer this technique. Philippe, Nicolas' brother, seduced by this challenge, joined the company's history in 2011 and became the specialist in laser engraving. Thanks to its partners, its team of collaborators and a complete and modern workshop, STGI services has become a major player in the field of industrial engraving, constantly focused on progress and innovation. From the modernization of its workshop to the integration of new skills within its team and the transmission of its knowledge to new generations, the company is pursuing its adventure with one main objective in mind: customer satisfaction.
